Precast bases

Home | Precast bases

Our precast bases offer a reliable alternative to traditional in-situ concrete foundations

Designed to provide a stable footing for steel-framed structures, these units are manufactured off-site in a controlled environment, ensuring precision, strength, and consistency.

Uses of our precast bases

Our precast foundation bases can be used across a range of different industries.

  • Steel-framed buildings (agricultural, commercial, and industrial).
  • Substations and utility structures.
  • Silo and storage foundations.
  • Prefabricated and temporary buildings.
  • Street lighting, signage, and EV charging infrastructure.

What our precast bases do

Our precast concrete bases are purpose-built to:

  • Securely attach steel columns using built-in connection points.
  • Speed up construction by reducing the time needed for installation and site setup.
  • Remove the need for moulds and on-site curing to make logistics easier and minimise weather-related delays.
  • Ensure precision for consistent construction across various units.
  • Handle heavy structural loads with strong, reinforced concrete for lasting performance.
  • Offer versatility for different uses, such as agricultural sheds, substations, and commercial buildings.

Project example: Moffat Substation

We produced 180 bespoke precast foundation blocks for the Moffat Substation, supplied to Luddon Construction on behalf of Scottish Power Energy Network (SPEN).

These blocks form the structural base for the substation’s steel framework, providing a consistent, high-strength solution delivered to a tight deadline.
