Farm Safety Week 2026: It’s About People

This week marks Farm Safety Week, the annual campaign led by the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies), bringing the farming industry together to raise awareness of one of the biggest issues facing agriculture.

Farming continues to have one of the poorest safety records of any industry in the UK.

During 2024/25, 23 farm workers and four members of the public, including two children, lost their lives in farming-related incidents.

While those numbers are shocking, this year’s campaign asks us to look beyond the statistics and remember the people behind them.

Every day on farms and in yards across the country, people work around machinery, livestock, vehicles and heavy materials. It’s easy to become familiar with the job and think, “It’ll only take a minute”.

Unfortunately, that’s often when accidents happen.

Taking a few extra moments to think about the task in front of you, making sure equipment is safe to use and speaking up if something doesn’t look right can make all the difference. Small changes really do save lives.

At CWP, we’re proud to support Farm Safety Week and the work Yellow Wellies does to encourage safer working across the agricultural industry.

Whether you’re on a farm, in a workshop or out on site, we all have a part to play in looking after ourselves and those around us.

If you’d like to find out more about the campaign or access free resources, visit Yellow Wellies and join the conversation using #FarmSafetyWeek.
