JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Production Operative, you will join our existing team based in Lockerbie and will assist with the efficient manufacturing of bespoke, high-quality concrete products. These roles offer fantastic opportunities for successful candidates to gain or enhance their knowledge and skills within the manufacturing and construction industry.
KEY DUTIES AND responsibilities:
The key duties and responsibilities of these positions include, but are not limited to:
- Stripping out freestanding moulds and handling steel reinforcement cages.
- Assembling and cleaning precast moulds.
- Pouring concrete and finishing units to a high standard.
- Reading and interpating drawings.
- Cutting and bending reinforcing steel to be used in the production of concrete products.
- Operating power tools and hand tools.
- Working as a team to meet production standards and deadlines.
- Monitoring situations to adjust and maintain quality.
- Undertaking basic maintenance and regular equipment checks within the factories.
- Performing housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment.
- Undertaking any relevant training in line with own personal development needs and business requirements.
- Complying with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
- Assisting with additional duties when required to support the department or company objectives.
- Completing paperwork.
- Using Cranes (training will be provided if necessary)
Person Specification:
- Previous experience within a similar role is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
- A good general level of education.
- Be willing to undertake the relevant training required for the role
- Hard-working and conscientious.
- Willing to learn new skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.
- Have an understanding of Health & Safety within the workplace.
- Knowledge of concrete products/production is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
- Be able to build good working relationships with colleagues.
- Have a positive attitude to all tasks.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and confident.
- Hardworking with a flexible attitude to work.
