JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Production Operative, you will join our existing team based in Lockerbie and will assist with the efficient manufacturing of bespoke, high-quality concrete products. These roles offer fantastic opportunities for successful candidates to gain or enhance their knowledge and skills within the manufacturing and construction industry.

KEY DUTIES AND responsibilities:

The key duties and responsibilities of these positions include, but are not limited to:

• Stripping out freestanding moulds and handling steel reinforcement cages.
• Assembling and cleaning precast moulds.
• Pouring concrete and finishing units to a high standard.
• Reading and interpating drawings.
• Cutting and bending reinforcing steel to be used in the production of concrete products.
• Operating power tools and hand tools.
• Working as a team to meet production standards and deadlines.
• Monitoring situations to adjust and maintain quality.
• Undertaking basic maintenance and regular equipment checks within the factories.
• Performing housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment.
• Undertaking any relevant training in line with own personal development needs and business requirements.
• Complying with the company’s policies & procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
• Assisting with additional duties when required to support the department or company objectives. 
• Completing paperwork.
• Using Cranes (training will be provided if necessary)

Person Specification:

• Previous experience within a similar role is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
• A good general level of education.
• Be willing to undertake the relevant training required for the role
• Hard-working and conscientious.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.
• Have an understanding of Health & Safety within the workplace.
• Knowledge of concrete products/production is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
• Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
• Be able to build good working relationships with colleagues.
• Have a positive attitude to all tasks.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and confident.
• Hardworking with a flexible attitude to work.
