CWP Concrete will supply Akela Construction precast piles on a project basis. Akela is one of Scotland’s top construction and civil engineering contractors, operating across the Central Belt and Southern Scotland.

Akela works across the private and public sectors, delivering engineering and groundworks solutions to housebuilders, main contractors, local authorities, public utilities, and industry. Their clients boast some of the best-known housebuilding brands including CALA, Persimmon, Cruden, Bellway, AS Homes and Barratt.

CWP’s Concrete Driven Piles are used by ground engineering contractors across the UK. The 3,000m2 state-of-the-art onsite manufacturing facility in Southwest Scotland produces Concrete Piles in various sizes. Concrete Driven Piles offer a cost-effective foundation solution that can be used in all types of civil engineering projects. These include underpinning houses and light buildings, as well as being used as foundations on new build housing developments and in marine construction and coastal engineering.

CWP’s Concrete Driven Piles are reinforced with a pre-formed steel cage and can be coated with a bituminous layer to combat challenging ground conditions. Our preferred pile solution is square in shape with a slight taper to allow a more effective de-moulding process.

CWP Concrete Piles are also fitted with a universal bar and dowel jointing system with steel crack rings. This allows multiple configurations of units to be formed. This allows contractors to meet the required depths in the ground. This design ensures each length can be secured quickly speeding up operations for contractors on site.

David Warley, Contracts Engineer said;

“CWP supply precast piles to many of our projects. Ordering and calling off deliveries is an easy process and CWP organises all the deliveries to our sites as required. CWP have a good range of stock and is accommodating when we require various pile section lengths.”

Ryan Brown, Managing Director said;

“It is great to be able to add Akela Construction Ltd to our civil engineering client list. Our concrete piles are used across this sector providing clients with the means to offer superior ground engineering solutions. Demand for concrete-driven piles for concrete foundation schemes has seen us increase our manufacturing capacity. We look forward to working with the team at Akela and supporting their projects across Scotland.”

CWP Concrete Driven Piles are available in two sizes.  Commonly used in the housing industry:

Both sizes are reinforced with a 12mm steel helical cage and produced in standard lengths from 4m – 12m.
