CWP Scoop 'Most Promising New Business Award' at the Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards 2018
18th June 2018
We have been lucky enough to scoop a prestigious award for Most Promising New Business at Friday nights Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards held in association with Dumfries Developing the Young Workforce.
Shortlisted for 2 awards out of the 11 categories, we were lucky enough to scoop the accolade during the evening cementing our success as one of the top upcoming concrete manufacturing companies in Scotland.
The Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards celebrate companies that flourish in the Dumfries & Galloway area, recognising excellence in areas such as innovation, customer service and international growth.
The competition this year was strong with companies covering all sectors and industries of business in Dumfries & Galloway who have all excelled over the past year and who proved to be fierce competition in judging this year due to their recent accomplishments.
Ryan Brown, Managing Director stated “Winning this award has been a great achievement for us. We were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in these categories, especially with the calibre of nominees this year; the awards are a great initiative to promote Dumfries Businesses to the wider audience. Winning this award is testament to the hard work of our entire team through the current climate and their sheer determination to succeed.”
“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the years to reach our goals and grow our business. We look forward to what the future holds with our ambitious expansion plans.”
Originally, our aim was to manufacture concrete wall panels for the agricultural market, however, the success of our first year has seen us undergoing an extensive expansion of our site and we now offer a range of innovative products including our CWP Feeder System and we have adapted to new markets with our A Walls, T Walls and CWP Delta Blocks which are aimed at entering the industrial markets.
One of the main qualities that we have tried to encapsulate in the growth of our business is to focus on counteracting our environmental footprint, giving back to our local communities and supporting our local young people; our belief in the need to give back to our communities and protect the environment is what we believe has been a key component to our success in winning Most Promising New Business at this year’s awards.
Indeed, we have no plans on slowing down anytime soon with ambitious objectives for the business over the next 3 years. We have begun erecting the 2nd factory of 800m2 to cope with the new range of precast products currently in development.
In line with the expansion, we are also focusing on local recruitment and specifically looking at developing the young workforce in the local area with training opportunities and a dedicated schools programme to educate the local young people about the opportunities within manufacturing and to strike a passion for the industry at a young age.
We fought off stiff competition to scoop the prestigious accolade at this years’ Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards and we have cemented our place as one of the top upcoming manufacturing companies in Scotland; with no plans on slowing down anytime soon the two generations of the Brown family are set to take CWP to new heights over the coming years.
